As of this morning the flood waters have dropped and receded quite a bit. But, we are hearing that we are not out of the woods yet. The river still hasn’t crested in Moose Lake, the bad news is, we may get more water, but with the level going down overnight has helped tremendously and hopefully has given us enough room to absorb the next wave!

What’s next?? We are making plans for cleanup, assessing what needs to be done and the best way to go about things. I can say, that we will need a lot of volunteer help. We will create a sign up sheet for not only people willing to help, but also a sign up sheet for those of you who need help. Please don’t be shy, if you need help please ask. We are also planning a meal/barbecue for volunteers on Saturday at the Rec. Hall. Morning coffee and donuts will also be available. We do ask if you have young children, please think twice about bringing them. The river is contaminated, will still be high and has a very dangerous current. There will also be a lot of equipment moving around, and kids being curious, could be in harms way if unsupervised. Until the flood waters recede below our lift stations we cannot turn them on. We have more porta potties coming today.

You can’t help but sit and wonder why me, why us again? Some of you have been through this twice now and it is not easy coming back, putting the pieces back together. Although we can’t begin to control or prevent what happened, we can control how we react! By helping your neighbor, showing them compassion, giving them a shoulder to lean on, will mean a lot to them. Some of those who lost their campers kept helping others get theirs out, working until the wee hours of the morning.  This is what makes Timberline so great. We are family and we will persevere!!
